Shoalhaven Council facilities reintroduce reusable cups

Reusable cups are once again being accepted at the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre and Swim, Sport and Fitness Centres as a new contactless method to keep patrons and visitors safe.

Residents and visitors can now request their coffee be served in reusable cups at these Council facilities with Council staff using a contactless coffee method to supply customers their beverage in a COVID-safe way.

Each Centre use a contactless coffee method that adheres to COVID-safe practices.

Shoalhaven City Council’s Mayor Amanda Findley is pleased to see the reintroduction of reusable cups in Council facilities and advises “keeping patrons and visitors safe is always a top of mind for Council staff in our facilities. That’s why I’m so pleased to see that it's in a safe way while helping to reduce unnecessary waste going to landfill.

“Unfortunately, due to the impact of COVID-19 on workplace safety and hygiene practices, we have seen a huge increase in single-use plastics, including takeaway coffee cups.

“I am proud that Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre and Swim, Sport and Fitness facilities have received high ‘scores on doors’ hygiene ratings in their cafes and continue to meet the highest food service standards.
