SharkNinja secures naming rights for extended A-League Women’s season

The Australian Professional Leagues (APL) has announced a multi-year deal with product design and technology company SharkNinja to become the new naming rights partner of the women’s A-League.

The sponsorship, which sees the competition renamed as the Ninja A-League, will see SharkNinja activate a series of joint initiatives - the first of which will include the continuation of Dub Zone, a magazine show focusing on the weekly action from the Ninja A-League, and the delivery of a new junior pass which will provide free access to fans under 16 for the first four rounds of the Ninja A-League.

APL has today also seen the release of the fixture list for the upcoming A-League Women season, with the competition extended to 23 games, and with later kick-offs to avoid summer heat.

With the League having scrapped 3pm kick-offs between mid-December and February last season, games in the 2024/25 competition between December and March will commence at 5pm or later.

In releasing the ALW season fixtures today, the APL confirmed games played from round five in early December to round 21 in March have been pushed to 5pm as part of its heat policy.

Midweek fixtures will be played during round nine, from 27th December to 27th January, in a bid to grow audiences during the summer break between major sporting codes.

The competition, which already had 22 home-and-away fixtures, starts on 1st November and will add an additional regular-season game through Unite Round.

Unite Round will be held at Leichhardt Oval on from 22nd to 24th November.

SharkNinja partnership
The APL partnership with SharkNinja will also become a new major sponsor of the Isuzu UTE A-League.

Welcoming the support, A-Leagues Commissioner, Nick Garcia noted “we are thrilled to welcome SharkNinja as naming rights partner of the Ninja A-League. This partnership is another exciting step in the growth of the league, as we increase the investment in the game and expand our partnership group to help us elevate the league.

“SharkNinja joins the A-Leagues with aligned ambitions; to grow women’s football in Australia and New Zealand, increase the opportunities and pathways for players, and help make the game more visible and accessible for our fans. We can’t wait to see where we take the Ninja A-League Women.”

“We want to also take this time to thank Liberty who has been a fantastic partner of the APL and supporter of the women’s game for the last three seasons. Liberty’s work in helping grow the A-League is not done, and they remain an integral Major Partner of the women’s and men’s leagues.”

As a global kitchen, beauty and home appliance leader, SharkNinja’s mission is to positively impact people’s lives every day in every home around the world through products that are innovative, affordable and easy to use.
