Sesame Street comes to Universal Studios Singapore
Resorts World Sentosa, Universal Parks & Resorts and Sesame Workshop (the non-profit educational organisation behind the Sesame Street brandname), have announced that Sesame Street and its famous characters including Big Bird, Elmo and the Cookie Monster will be developed into the latest family-oriented theme park experience at Universal Studios Singapore.
Explaining the link with the long-running children's television program Resorts World Sentosa Senior Vice President of Attractions Dennis Gilbert stated "Universal Studios Singapore is about bringing fun and excitement to the entire family.
"This collaboration with Sesame Street will add yet another major attraction, with shows geared for our younger guests, topping off the stellar line-up of blockbuster rides, shows and attractions at the theme park."
Universal Studios Singapore has already hosted a Sesame Street stage performance called When I Grow Up, featuring many all-time Sesame Street favourite characters, while characters including Bert and Ernie are now meeting and greeting park guests daily for photographic experiences.
Special Sesame Street merchandise, exclusive to Universal Studios Singapore, is now also on sale with three new themed retail outlets set to open in July.
Park guests will soon also be take off on an adventure with Elmo in a new indoor ride, to be launched in the second half of the year within New York, one of the seven theme zones within Universal Studios Singapore.
