SEN Stadium eliminates need for fans to access stadium Wi-Fi

Sports Entertainment Network (SEN) is continuing to enhance the fan experience with the ongoing development of SEN Stadium - an innovative live commentary feature within the SEN App.

By eliminating traditional transmission delays, SEN Stadium delivers real-time broadcasts directly to fans inside the ground, providing an immersive experience that brings them closer to the heart of the action.

The latest technical upgrade to SEN Stadium, which was made possible thanks to the support of DrinkWise and Lumo Energy, has made it even more accessible to users as it is no longer essential to join the stadium Wi-Fi to experience the platform's benefits. Fans can now easily access the real-time stream using their 4G or 5G network, ensuring a seamless connection to the live commentary.

In 2021, SEN Stadium debuted in select stadiums across Victoria and Western Australia that were equipped with in-venue WiFi. The service provided fans in attendance with live broadcasts of AFL matches and International Test Cricket.

The service has now expanded to stadiums nationwide thanks to the development of new technology by the recently released SEN Sync product. Starting this weekend, football fans in South Australia, NSW and Queensland can enjoy SEN and AFL Nation broadcasts from their seats without any delay, marking a significant step forward in providing real-time audio coverage of the game as it unfolds in front of them.

Fans in Victoria and Western Australia, are no longer required to join the stadium WiFi to enjoy the zero-latency audio experience.

Simon Chapman, SEN Digital Director advised "the response to SEN Stadium since its launch has been fantastic, and we've been constantly working to make it even better.

"We've taken on board the feedback from our users, and the introduction of 4G and 5G capability tackles one of the main issues they've raised about navigating the busy WiFi networks in the stadiums.

“With SEN Stadium now available across the country, we're thrilled to offer a truly nationwide solution for footy fans and are excited to expand the range of sports available on the platform in the future.”

The improved SEN Stadium, along with SEN Sync, puts the power of choice back into the hands of fans, allowing them to tailor their experience to their preferences, regardless of how they choose to consume the game. Whether fans are at the stadium or following the action remotely, SEN ensures that they can stay connected to the pulse of the game in a way that suits them best.
