Search resumes for naming rights sponsor for Newcastle's Hunter Stadium

Venues NSW has recommenced a search for a naming rights sponsor for the Hunter Stadium home venue of the Newcastle Knights and the Newcastle Jets.

The NSW Government agency undertook a search for a naming rights sponsor for the 33,000 capacity venue last year, along with the Parramatta Stadium, eventually securing automotive fluids company Pirtek for the now renamed Pirtek Stadium home of the Parramatta Eels and Western Sydney Wanderers.

Now Venues NSW is again looking for Hunter Stadium at the Newcastle International Sports Centre, stating that "the naming rights sponsor for the venue will gain a significant presence in the Newcastle regions."

The venue has a long history of naming rights sponsorships having been previously known as Marathon Stadium, EnergyAustralia Stadium and Ausgrid Stadium.

Speaking last year, Venues NSW Chairman John Quayle, spoke of the "unique opportunity for the right company to associate their brand with (this) landmark facility."

"More than 57,000 cars pass the stadium every day, making it an essential attraction in the local community, and prime signage is available in the TV arc, reaching viewers across the country.

"With a state-of-the-art new grandstand, over 26 major events and more than 330,000 spectators visiting the venue each year, Hunter Stadium is an icon of sport in the region with a very bright future ahead."
