SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium offers fund-raising shark dive and dine experience
SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium has partnered with Deliveroo to offer guests a dive and dine experience with the sharks. A limited number of tickets will go on sale at midday on Monday 16th March for $143 with all funds raised going directly to the SEA LIFE Sydney’s next shark rescue.
SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium Shark Dive Xtreme Instructor, Brett Fairhurst advised “of the 500 species of sharks that swim in our seas, 143 are under threat, listed by the International Union for Conservation of Nature, from vulnerable to critically endangered.
“We’re thrilled to be able to support conservation via this initiative, with all funds raised going directly towards shark rescues that the SEA LIFE Sydney team are leading in the wild. It’s also great to provide an educational experience and the chance to get up close and personal with a number of species at an intimate supper with the sharks.”
Deliveroo Head of Consumer Comms Australia, Joe Satari added “here at Deliveroo, we like to push the boundaries and offer our customers the most unique dining experiences. Dine and Dive is a world first and all funds raised will support SEA LIFE Sydney’s next shark rescue.”
Shark fans will get up close with magical underwater creatures in Sydney’s only cageless underwater shark dive. Guests will navigate the deep blue waters to order their dinner from a giant Deliveroo app guarded by five Grey Nurse Sharks, each measuring between 2.5-3metres.
Once the dive is over and guests have swum up an appetite, they’ll be treated to their choice of dish from Fishbowl, which offers Japanese-inspired salads and bowls, delivered straight to the new Day and Night on the Reef exhibit - home to over 500 sea creatures, including Reef Sharks, Green Sea Turtles and tropical fish by Deliveroo riders.
Dive and dine with the sharks promises to be an exhilarating experience, and one of the only opportunities worldwide where guests are guaranteed an underwater and face-to-face encounter with sharks. Daring divers will share the water with massive stingrays, Port Jackson Sharks, Wobbegong Sharks and dozens of other species.
