SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium marks April Fool’s Day with Jellyfish Dive Xtreme

SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium has marked April Fool’s Day 2023 with the launch of a world-first Jellyfish Dive Xtreme – a clever marketing strategy.

The marketing strategy promotes the ‘not real’ experience as allowing “visitors to immerse themselves inside the jellyfish exhibit, home to six species of jellyfish. It also highlights the fascinating diversity among the species and the intensity of their stings.”

Patrick Noble, Curatorial Displays Supervisor at SEA LIFE Melbourne participated in the marketing of this April Fool’s Day experience by adding “Jellyfish Dive Xtreme is the first of its kind in the world and it’s not for the faint-hearted! Guest feedback was they wanted to get closer than ever to our jellyfish, so we decided to make it happen!

“You can now dive with SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium’s blue blubbers, upside-down jellies, white-spotted jellies, lion’s mane jellies, mauve stingers, and moon jellies!”

‘Real’ experiences on offer at SEA LIFE Melbourne include a behind the scenes tour of the Jelly Lab, sub-Antarctic penguins, a saltwater crocodile, thousands of fish species and more!
