Saudi Entertainment Ventures starts building new entertainment destination

Saudi Entertainment Ventures (SEVEN) has started building its new SAR 1 billion (US$266 million) entertainment destination in the north western city of Tabūk.

Set to include e-karting experience, an indoor adventure golf course, a 10-lane futuristic bowling experience and a 10-screen cinema, the location is planned as a village nestled between gardens and recreational spaces.

Designed by Gensler, highlights of the attraction will be a 4,000 metre² social entertainment centre (SEC), another SEC for younger visitors, and the Discovery Adventures edutainment attraction.

Guests will be able to explore the venue under a coloured glass canopy inspired by local arts and traditions, and an innovative hydroponic tower tributed to the agricultural contribution of the city to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

One of 21 entertainment destinations being built by SEVEN across Saudi Arabia, the Tabūk (also spelled Tabouk) location is set on more than 7 hectares of built-up land.

Other locations are being built in Riyadh, Kharj, Makkah, Jeddah, Taif, Dammam, Khobar, Al Ahsa, and Madinah.

SEVEN Chairman, Abdullah Al-Dawood, said the company is “excited to be bringing our exciting new entertainment experiences to the people of Tabuk”.

He noted “we have appreciated the city’s rich culture and heritage in the development of our entertainment destination, infusing it with Tabuk’s unique features and ensuring that our destination will cater to the needs of all in Tabuk.

“Our entertainment destination gates will support the local economy, create job opportunities for the city’s people, and enrich the lives of those living in and visiting Tabuk.”

SEVEN is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund (PIF). Saudi Arabia’s entertainment and attractions sector is rapidly growing as part of the PIF’s Vision 2030.

Tabūk is the capital city of the Tabuk Region in north western Saudi Arabia. It has a population of 667,000.
