SAPIA launches Code of Practice for installation and maintenance of sports surfaces
As the recognised Australian trade association, the Sports and Play Industry Association (SAPIA) has launched its Code of Practice for the Installation and Maintenance of Impact Attenuating Surfacing Systems, Part 1: Wet Pour Rubber Safety Surfacing for Playgrounds.
Released at the recent National Sports Convention in Melbourne, SAPIA has produced this Code of Practice, the first in a series of topics relating to sports and playground construction, to provide prospective clients and specifiers with guidance on the basic construction requirements, specifications and maintenance currently employed in constructing wet pour impact attenuating surfacing in playgrounds.
With the approval of UK peak body the Sports and Play Construction Association (SAPCA), the British Code of Practice has been adapted by SAPIA for Australian conditions with the requirements of the latest Australian Standards incorporated into the new document.
SAPIA hopes that it will prove useful in the selection of an appropriate system and surface and form a useful reference in the design and construction process.
The authors of the Code will be on hand to answer questions and share their in-depth knowledge of Impact Attenuating Surfacing Systems at the SAPIA National Conference at Mantra On Salt Beach, Kingscliff, northern NSW on Friday 31st August 2018.
All interested persons are welcome to attend.
SAPIA fosters excellence, professionalism and continuous improvement throughout the sports and play construction industry, in order to provide the high quality facilities necessary for the success and safety of Australian sport and recreation.
