Rockingham’s new Community Infrastructure Plan 2023 adopted

The City of Rockingham, comprising Perth's southern coastal suburbs, has adopted its new Community Infrastructure Plan (CIP) 2023 which will guide the delivery of community services and facilities over the next decade.

Every year the CIP is reviewed by Council to identify the services and facilities that are needed across the City.

Over the next year the City will start work on several major projects including Aqua Jetty Stage Two, the Stan Twight Reserve Redevelopment, the Baldivis Sports Complex Outdoor Recreation Space, and the Baldivis Sports Complex Outdoor Courts and Southern Pavilion. Planning and design will also progress on the Anniversary Park Redevelopment.

The CIP is vital to the development, timing, design and location of community infrastructure, and takes into consideration any changes to the City’s population as well other economic and social trends that could affect certain projects.

Mayor Deb Hamblin noted “The CIP is a critical part of the City’s Strategic Planning Framework that guides the allocation of resources towards projects that cater for our projected growth over the next 10 – 15 years.

“Council’s latest review of the CIP has taken into consideration the ongoing trends in the building and construction sector, and how they may impact City infrastructure projects.

“Through the CIP 2023 the City looks forward to continuing to make exciting progress on several much-anticipated community infrastructure projects.”
