Riversdale Group sign exclusive Tropfest F&B deal
The Riversdale Group has agreed an exclusive multi-year deal on food and beverage sponsorship rights with Tropfest Australia the world's largest short film festival.
Explaining the move, Riversdale Group Chief Executive Paddy Coughlan stated "Tropfest is a great event and we're all really excited to be onboard. It's one of the best outdoor events in Sydney, and is a great fit with so many of our venues.
"We have a concentration of inner city bars with strong creative followings, and we're going to have a lot of fun bringing the off-site bars to life at Centennial Park."
The Riversdale Group contract will commence from the next live Tropfest event on 8th December 2013 at new venue Centennial Park.
Tropfest Australia Managing Director, Michael Laverty adds "the signature item this year is change representing the massive changes we're making to deliver a bigger and better event for everyone come 8th December.
"Having the Riversdale Group on-board running all hospitality offerings on-site will be an integral part in our move to Centennial Park. Their plans for pop up bars and food around the live event site are fantastic, and will take the Tropfest F&B offerings to a whole new level."
As part of the Tropfest food and beverage offering the Riversdale Group will run three larger bars, aligned with Riversdale Group venues.
A Miss Peaches pop-up will be a blues infused bar offering rustic cocktails and home-cooked soul food, the Lo-Fi bar will serve Johnny Wong's famous dumplings and a range of cocktails while The Vic Enmore pop-up will be a cool representation of the laid-back offerings of the Vic on a weekend.
In addition to the three venue themed bars at Tropfest, the Riversdale Group will also stage other bars that will operate as branded activations with alcohol partners. It is anticipated that close to 100,000 will flock to Centennial Park to make up the December 2013 audience, translating to huge numbers through the Riversdale Group bars on the day.
Established in Sydney over 21 years ago, Tropfest has become the world's largest short film festival. Judges in the past have included a who's who of the international film community including Nicole Kidman, Cate Blanchett, Toni Collette, Russell Crowe, Geoffrey Rush, Keanu Reeves, Sam Worthington and Ewan McGregor.
The Riversdale Group will also cater the VIP experience for all key local and international guests.
