Richmond records 11th consecutive year of profit

Richmond has announced an operating profit of $458,586 for the financial year ending 31st October, the club’s 11th consecutive operating profit.

However, this year’s result is down from last year’s operating profit of $1,329,530.

The club has revealed that revenues were $46.7 million, an increase of $2.3 million, with net assets increasing to $24.2 million.

Richmond’s cash reserves exceed $2 million, which represents a turnaround of almost $7 million based on the club’s debt position five years ago.

Other highlights for the club include an AFL best home and away attendance of 1.05 million, broadcast television audiences of 16 million and record sponsorship revenue spearheaded by deals with Jeep and Bingle.

Commenting on the Club's performance, Richmond Football Club President Peggy O’Neal (pictured below) stated “a clear vision and a well-executed plan, combined with the amazing support of the Tiger fans and business partners, has been the key to another strong result.

“The challenge for our board and management is to continue to grow our business, in line with our strategic plan, so the club has a stable financial basis for its future.

“Our improved financial position allows us to consider mid-to-long term investment decisions to better insulate the club from any downturn in on-field performance.”
