Rewarding the best in Fitness
Fitness Australia President Susan Kingsmill was recognised for her outstanding contribution to the industry last night at the Australian Fitness Industry Awards of Excellence.
Kingsmill has now been the President of Fitness Australia since 2004, and over that time has been intimately involved in the case against the Phonographic Performing Company of Australia which has been heard at the Copyright Tribunal of Australia over the past five weeks. Kingsmill has been unflinching in her determination and drive for the industry and has helped Fitness Australia forge a path to unification, which is nearing completion. Kingsmill's commitment to Fitness Australia and itâs future, as been recognised with the 2008 Australian Fitness Industry Outstanding Contribution to the Industry Award.
As Fitness Australia Chief Executive Lauretta Stace explains "Susan has been a passionate crusader for all sectors of the industry, from multi-national centres through to the small independent operator and the individual exercise professional."

2008 Australian Exercise Professional of the Year - Joint Winners: James Short, NSW and Matt Patti, Queensland
2008 Australian Personal Training Business of the Year - Succeed Personal Development, ACT
Succeed Personal Development, based in the ACT pride themselves on listening to and creating solutions for each client on an individual basis. With an acknowledgement of the importance of teaching the youth about the importance of exercise, Succeed has recently secured government funding to run an active schools program.
2008 Australian Fitness Business of the Year - C2K Fitness & Aquatic Centre, NSW
C2K Fitness & Aquatic Centre of Castle Hill RSL has made an outstanding contribution to the fitness industry by offering exceptional service to their clients and members. C2K Fitness & Aquatic Centre are proud of their service offering, having over 2000 members who are aged 55+ and 500 members who are students, on a base of 7000.
With over 17,000 delegates about to converge on Darling Harbour for the annual FILEX fitness convention, it's fitting that the Awards evening has recognised the contributions of the echelon of the industry.
