Reliance Risk announces opening of New Zealand office

Building on their history of supporting clients in the venues and events sectors across New Zealand and Australia, Reliance Risk has announced the opening of their New Zealand office, based in the Waikato region of the North Island. Managed by Principal Consultant - Adam Lynch - Reliance Risk New Zealand will service new and existing clients throughout the country.

Following new health and safety laws five years ago, an increased focus on terrorism after the Christchurch incident, and now the COVID-19 pandemic; venue managers and event organisers are more attuned than ever to managing the evolving threats to their businesses. Reliance Risk is well placed to help.

Talking about their latest expansion, Reliance Risk Managing Director, Wayne Middleton notes “Reliance Risk has been working with New Zealand clients for seven years and have been looking at expanding our presence in the market there for some time.

“I have worked for Adam with him as a client and have enormous respect for his knowledge and skills in many facets of managing risk in the venues and events industries. Adam is well known to the events and venues industry throughout the country and has a solid background in venue management, entertainment and events, making him an ideal addition to the Reliance team.  

“Utilising Adam’s local market knowledge and our wider Reliance network, we are looking forward to continuing to grow and support our New Zealand client base.”

Lynch’s previous roles include Chief Operating Officer at Hobbiton Movie Set, Head of Operations at Venues Wellington, Operations Manager at Spark Arena, Auckland; and Operations Manager at Vbase in Christchurch. Lynch has a particular passion for health and safety, building organisational resilience, business continuity and emergency management.

Lynch advises “as a client who has worked with Reliance on projects in the past, I trust the company’s products and services. They are of a high quality, very practical and were of great value to the organisations I worked for. I was very excited when an opportunity arose to join the team.

“The timing for a New Zealand office is ideal. New Zealand is now five years into our new Health & Safety legislation, there is an increasing trend toward reviewing existing management systems, and ensure they are fit for purpose, and keeping up with legislative and industry changes.”
