RedBalloon survey shows Australians value family time

Australian prefer spending time with their partner and family more than any other activity according to the 2nd online Australian Pleasure Survey. Compiled by RedBalloon Days from 3,297 responses nationwide , the survey showed that 65% of Australians prefer to spend time with their partner, then friends (22% vs 24% in NSW) - and men were slightly higher at 66% preferring to spend time with their partner than women at 64%

Other results from the survey showed that 27% of Tasmanians would prefer time alone (vs an Australian average of 12%) while, across the nation, a quarter of people plan to enjoy family outings.

Regional variations in the survey showed that:

Canberrans love romantic getaways (43% vs an Australian average of 34%);

Queenslanders enjoy pampering (30% vs an Australian average of 27%)

Tasmanians like outdoor/nature activities (39% vs an Australian average of 12%)

NT people jump for extreme sports (14% vs an Australian average of 4%)

NSW and Victorians match figures exactly for romantic getaways (34%), pampering (26%), gourmet (13%), and extreme (4%), but more Victorians prefer outdoor activities (13%) than those from NSW (11%).
