Rebrand and Xbox Fitness link for newly named MOSSA

Changing its name from Body Training Solutions (BTS), the newly branded MOSSA has linked with global software giant Microsoft to provide video workouts on the new online service, Xbox Fitness.

Xbox Fitness is a new online Kinect-powered workout service for the new Xbox One entertainment system (launched today - 22nd November) that will initially be offered free to Xbox Live subscribers.

Built exclusively for the Xbox One, Xbox Fitness has taken some of the world's most popular fitness videos and made them interactive. With MOSSA joining some of the world's biggest fitness brands consumers can now experience MOSSA workouts with instant, personalised feedback at home. Xbox Fitness will optimize every workout with immediate feedback on form, power, and heart rate through the all-new Kinect, featuring Muscle Mapping, Power Gauge, and Pulse.

A MOSSA spokesperson explained "Xbox One's technology combined with MOSSA's programming expertise make these workouts the most enjoyable and effective home user experience."

MOSSA has created four different workouts to launch on Xbox Fitness: MOSSA Core Workout, MOSSA Fight Workout, MOSSA Groove Workout, and MOSSA Power Workout. Each video workout has been customized for Xbox Fitness and the Kinect technology. Each workout is 30 minutes and is designed specifically for the home user with special consideration for fitness and experience levels, space limitations, equipment, and the amount of direct supervision.

A statement from MOSSA added "with this unique Xbox Fitness partnership and the growing popularity of its group fitness programs worldwide, BTS is entering a very exciting phase of their business and felt a new corporate identity would be perfect to guide the company into the future.

"MOSSA is an Italian word that means to move or to excite, and this ties directly into the company's tagline lets's move!"

The MOSSA statement added "Microsoft is by far the largest company to enter into both the club and home fitness markets (and) millions of people worldwide will be exposed to MOSSA Home Workouts through Xbox One's online service, Xbox Fitness."

Linking to this, MOSSA is introducing an innovative consumer-to-health-club promotion wherein, over the next four years, Microsoft and MOSSA will promote MOSSA customer clubs through Xbox One.

For participating locations, all Xbox Fitness users will be able to access a free pass to experience the professional MOSSA Group Fitness Programs Group Core, Group Groove, Group Kick, and Group Power.

The statement continued "MOSSA knows that an excellent fitness experience occurs when its professional group fitness programs are delivered in a health club with a fantastic room, a professional sound system, a motivating instructor, and the social dynamic of a group environment.

"(However), considering that approximately 85% of the population does not have health club memberships, something is needed to PUSH consumers to clubs.

"MOSSA and Xbox Fitness will enable users to learn and gain confidence at home and at their own pace. As they become more successful, they will be more likely to become a health club member as Xbox One and MOSSA guide them from their favorite MOSSA Home Workouts to the MOSSA Group Fitness Program at participating clubs."

MOSSA Home Workouts are only available through Xbox One and Xbox Fitness at this time. MOSSA will evaluate and determine if the Xbox Fitness home workouts are a viable health club product that could be added to the professional MOSSA Group Fitness Program offerings.
