Ready Steady Go Kids arrives in Gippsland
Children living in and around Gippsland will have the opportunity to take part in Australia's largest multi-sport program for preschoolers when Ready Steady Go Kids commences with the opening of two new locations in Traralgon and Sale for Term 1, 2013.
At a time when technology governs the lives of many Australian children, Ready Steady Go Kids has been embraced by families throughout the country, giving children a chance to be active and focusing on creating positive attitudes towards exercise at an early age that they can carry with them for life.
Physio-designed for children aged from two-and-a-half to six years, the Ready Steady Go Kids classes introduce preschoolers to the fundamentals of ten different sports while developing age-appropriate motor skills. Children also learn about good sportsmanship by learning how to take turns, playing by the rules and cooperating with their team mates.
Gippsland primary school teacher and fitness instructor, Amy Bennetts, the new franchisee of the local program, first heard about Ready Steady Go Kids from a friend in Melbourne.
Bennetts recalls "she raved about it, so I had a look at the Ready Steady Go Kids website and found myself wishing it was available where we live."
Bennetts organised for her own children to try Ready Steady Go Kids on their next visit to Melbourne and was thrilled to see how much they enjoyed it. She immediately knew that opening up a franchise of her own was the perfect way to combine her love of teaching and sport.
Bennetts explains "I've always had a passion for sports and teaching (and) having three young children myself, I know the importance of getting kids involved in exercise early.
"The chance to teach kids so many different sports just seemed too good to refuse."
National Ready Steady Go Kids Director, Stuart Derbyshire, is extremely pleased that Amy has joined his ever-growing team of dedicated franchisees, stating "Amy's experience and enthusiasm is fantastic.
"We're so happy that she's giving Gippsland's youngsters the chance to access to all the benefits the program offers."
Ready Steady Go Kids will commence in Sale and Traralgon in term 1, 2013.
Sale classes will be held on Friday and Saturday mornings, while the Traralgon program will be offered on Wednesday and Saturday mornings.
Bennetts is also offering free trial classes for families who'd like to experience the program before joining up.
Open days will be held at Traralgon on Saturday 12th January 2013 and at Sale on Saturday 19th January, from 10 am until noon at both locations.
Bennetts concludes "this is a great opportunity to learn what Ready Steady Go Kids is all about.
"We'll also have lots of extra fun activities, raffles, face-painting and giveaways on the day. We'd love all the young families in Gippsland to come along and join in the fun."
