Quayclean secures Blacktown Key Venues contract
Leading cleaning and presentation company, Quayclean Australia, has been awarded the cleaning contract for four Blacktown City Council aquatic, recreation and sport sites.
The agreement with Council sees Quayclean responsible for cleaning services at Blacktown International Sportspark, Blacktown Aquatic Centre, Charles Lowles Leisure Centre at Emerton and Blacktown Leisure Centre at Stanhope.
Quayclean Australia Chief Executive, Mark Piwkowski, said the company was excited to be working in partnership with one of NSW’s biggest Councils, advising “these Council-operated sites are major showpiece venues and attract a high number of visitors every year. Our staff take pride in their innovative, customer-focussed work and we are determined all attendees to these venues enjoy a memorable experience.”
Piwkowski said waste and sustainability initiatives will be a major focus over the three-year contract term, adding “apart from the obvious environmental advantages of reducing the amount of waste going to landfill, there are great savings to be made with effective waste separation.
“The cost of landfill is over $340 per tonne while recycled product can be as low as $200 per tonne, so we will be working closely with Council to ensure high recycling targets.”
Blacktown City Council Mayor Stephen Bali said Quayclean’s experience with major sites, and its industry-leading fully-employed working model were strong features of its tender
Mayor Bali advised “Quayclean has vast experience across the sport and leisure industry including managing 11 venues at the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.”
In NSW, Quayclean also services the Sydney Opera House, the SCG, Fox Studios, Sydney Olympic Park precinct, and NSW Office of Sport and Recreation venues.
The Australian-owned company is also contracted to Adelaide Oval, Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, the Gabba in Brisbane and Cbus Stadium on the Gold Coast, plus racecourses in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.
