Public Venue Risk and Safety Masterclasses to be held in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney

Industry risk management expert Wayne Middleton has joined with conference organisers Marcus Evans to present a two-day Public Venue Risk and Safety Masterclasses.

To be held in Melbourne on 2nd and 3rd March, Sydney on 5th and 6th March and Brisbane on 12th and 13th March, the two-day practical workshop will cover risk assessment and analysis, the need for risk assessments at venues and events, as well as describing specific risk assessment models. 

Wayne Middleton has helped many companies in the areas of safety, risk information management systems and emergency management for clients including V8 Supercars Australia, Tennis Australia, Sydney Opera House, Sydney Olympic Park (pictured), Melbourne Olympic Park, NSW Government, Manuka Oval and the Queensland Government.

In the Masterclass, delegates will gain value from practical training and advice on: 

• Preparing for the unexpected and managing venue and event resilience planning 
• Optimising operational profitability with practical and reliable safety, security and risk strategies
• Delving into specific risk assessment models and framework for public venues and events
• Achieving an effective enterprise-wide risk management framework
• Mastering communication and coordination with internal and external stakeholders for total safety
• Responding to the actual circumstances and issues on event day to minimise disaster occurrence and reputational risk to the organization
• Synchronising the risk and crisis management plans through real time information / data

Wayne Middleton, Principal, Reliance Risk
Wayne Middleton is a risk management consultant and founder of Reliance Risk.

Founded in 2007, Reliance Risk helps public venues, events, sport and the entertainment industry to manage risk effectively and provides support to organisations with unique problems involving risk and safety. 

With over 20 years experience in management and operational roles in the venues and events industries and 14 years as a risk management professional, Middleton has a wealth of experience both operating in-house within event organisations, and as a consultant to Government, not-for profit and private sector organisations. 

He has worked internationally on three Olympic Games, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games and works predominantly with national sporting organisations, production companies, major event organisers and local Government.
