Private Management for Delhi venues after Commonwealth Games
Private Indian companies will be handed control of Delhi Commonwealth Games once the event is over.
The Times of India reports that ownership of the stadiums will remain with the Indian Gvernment, which has also created a list which prohibits certain activities being conducted in the stadia.
The stadia include those currently under the control of Sports Authority of India (SAI), which the Government has spent over $550 million renovating or building for the Commonwealth Games.
They include JN Stadium, National Stadium, Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium complex, Shyama Prasad swimming pool complex and Dr Karni Singh shooting ranges.
