Pozible launch the Adelaide Edit

Crowdfunding organisation Pozible has launched its latest city-specific initiative, the Adelaide Edit.

With Pozible’s Edits already operational in Sydney and Melbourne, the Adelaide Edit will feature Pozible campaigns, crowdfunding workshops, and creative opportunities run for and by city locals.

Edits Manager Romina Thaler explained that highlighting Adelaide was a "natural choice", adding "most of the world already knows about the wine from the Barossa and McLaren Vale, but not the great new cider company recently established in the Adelaide Hills, or Adelaide’s fairtrade coffee shop and community space, the Coop ... just a few of the great concepts that’ve been crowdfunded on Pozible that come from South Australia.”

Newer Pozible campaigns include food truck event Fork on the Road and a touring production of No Strings Attached Theatre’s critically-acclaimed Sons and Mothers.

No Strings Attached Creative Director PJ Rose said the Adelaide Edit signalled a ramping up of involvement in Adelaide’s creative community.

Rose stated “we’re an amazing hub of touring shows and local creative, and we’re burgeoning.

"But people who don’t live in Adelaide don’t realise it, and if you don’t live in Melbourne, you hardly get any creative coverage at all.

"It’s going to be incredibly helpful for artists to draw upon Pozible, which has done so many great things for us and with its world-over presence, it’ll help them get the exposure they so crucially need."

Rose added that running a Pozible campaign would help young creatives better consider their budgets.

She concluded “it’s been eye-opening for us. I had to hire additional staff members for the tour, which wouldn’t be something you think about until you realise you might really be putting your plans into practice.

"And it’s an education it’s important these young artists get. Our Pozible campaign’s helped us gain the acknowledgment we need and then the funding that it’s just not possible to cover through standard grants or a funding agency.”
