Port Hedland's 2012 Spinifex Spree Carnival set to be the biggest ever
The 2012 Spinifex Spree Carnival will be bigger and more exciting than ever as it combines with the official opening of the new Multi Purpose Recreation Centre (MPRC) in South Hedland.
Rides, sideshow alley games and food vans will still feature at this year's carnival, but community members will have the added bonus of being able to participate in the MPRC opening festivities.
Starting at 5pm on Friday 27th July, community members will be treated to an evening of family focused entertainment including a magician, street performers and a headlining performer.
The fun will continue on Saturday 28th July with a range of activities for children, roving street performers and interactive stalls planned for the day.
From early afternoon, families will be treated to a series of AFL matches with a special game featuring the North-West Youth All Stars before the Port Hedland Rovers and South Hedland Swans clash in a local league derby. There will also be an opportunity to watch the live streaming of the Olympics as well as spectacular fireworks display in the evening.
The Town of Port Hedland is now taking stall holder registrations.
