Polysoft surface features in award-winning playground

Recently named as a winner in the Kidsafe 2012 National Playspace Design Awards, Sydney's Darling Quarter Playground features PolySoft surfacing on its custom-designed hill slides, which have proved a hit with young visitors.

Named as a winner in the Public Playspace over $1 million category, the Darling Quarter Playground is the largest childrens playspace in Sydney CBD.

The Kidsafe award recognised the playground design for challenging children to develop their agility and strength through play, with emphasis on elements that can be used in multiple ways and by groups.

The state-of-the-art playground features PolySoft surfacing with its particles that are designed to reduce surface heat, protecting little bare feet on hot days. With an R10 slip rating and excellent impact attenuation, children can let loose in an exciting, safe environment.

The award recognises excellence and innovation in providing safe, creative playspaces for children across Australia. According to the judges, "this project has broken the mould for traditional playspace design. No one would expect such a rich play experience available in the CBD".
