PLA seeks national Secretariat services
The Parks and Leisure Australia (PLA) association has issued an Expressions of Interest (EOI) to provide it with national secretariat and governance services including the role of the PLA's Chief Executive.
A statement from the PLA reads "the Board of Parks and Leisure Australia has for the past 12 months been working through the process of organisational change.
"This change means the roles and functions of both the national organisation and the regional councils has been reviewed .
"The national organisation focus will now be around governance, national board support and strategic planning issues (while) the regional councils will be strengthened to ensure that they are able to continue to grow PLA products, professional development and services at the local level."
PLA is seeking to contract an organisation or individual to provide these national secretariat services through a two year contract with two year option.
The statement adds "our initial desire is to draw EOI interest from within our membership, as we believe there are many capable providers registered as PLA members."
PLA membership is primarily drawn from parks and recreation managers and recreation planners in councils and government agencies.
EOIs must be submitted by Monday 21st November 2011 while the EOI document can be accessed by clicking on the link below.
