PLA Queensland seeks Secretariat
The Queensland Regional Council of Parks and Leisure Australia (PLAQ) is seeking a secretariat service to manage its activities, with current Secretary Megan Lennon set to end her time in the position.
PLAQ requires the secretariat service to provide the following:
• An effective point of contact via email and phone for members across Queensland;
• Coordination of membership services in conjunction with the national office;
• Management of correspondence and organisational accounts and operations as rrequired by the national office;
• Coordination of and support for, meetings of the regional council undertaken both face to face and via teleconference or web conference;
• Coordination of the professional development events program involving four to six events each year;
• Innovative approaches to the operations of PLAQ and provision of professional development opportunities;
• An understanding of the industry and the ability to network within and across industry sectors;
• Strong communication and promotion skills;
• Strong skills in contemporary office programs and desktop publishing will be an advantage.
A performance linked contract will be offered allowing for an initial two years with the opportunity for additional remuneration linked to the success of the professional development events which are a priority area of the service.
A workload averaging two days per week is anticipated.
PLA provides professionals in parks, open space management and recreation planning with leadership, advocacy and direction in training and industry innovation.
