Phoenix Health Club install turnstiles from Centaman Entrance Control

A Centurion tripod turnstile and SwingGate from Centaman Entrance Control has recently been installed Phoenix Health Club in Sydney as part of their membership access control system.

Phoenix Health Club is a 600 metre2 gym and part of the requirement was for the turnstiles to integrate with their Clubware membership system to provide automatic access control so only valid members gain access. A bar code reader was built in to the turnstile alongside a custom interface to sit between the turnstile and Clubware membership system.

When a member scans their card at the turnstile it's checked in the Clubware database to see if it's a valid member and the right time. If so the Centurion Tripod turnstile lets in one person. A second lane made up of a swing gate is used for wide lane access to comply with the Disabilities Discrimination Act.

Explaining the installation, Phoenix Health Club co-owner David Ridden stated "Centaman Entrance Control's ability to provide as turnstile that could seamlessly link to our Clubware membership database was key to our decision making process of which turnstile supplier to use.

"Additionally they could get the turnstile here in half their normal lead time so it could be installed and up and running in time for our grand opening. Centaman Entrance Control where quick to understand our requirements and design us a solution that meet both our operational needs and budget."
