Perth venues and precinct to turn pink with launch of Fringe World 2021

Perth venues, retail, businesses and streets will come alive with the colour pink as Fringe World transforms the city with its launch on Friday15th January and celebration of the event’s 10th anniversary.

The 2021 Fringe World Festival runs until 14th February at more than 100 venues, delivering more than 500 shows.

City of Perth Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas notes “we’re excited to once again sponsor Fringe World for 2021, helping to support the city’s economy, cultural industry and most importantly, the local artists.

“Each year, hundreds of thousands of people enjoy the incredible array of entertainment on offer and it is always so amazing to see the city bursting with colour, entertainment and vibrancy. This time is even more meaningful as we celebrate how lucky we are to be hosting such a magnificent event in the streets of Perth.

“We look forward to seeing Western Australians come out in their droves to support the artists who are putting on an amazing show throughout our city venues, including The Woodside Pleasure Garden and the Girls School in East Perth.”

As part of the annual sponsorship, the City is hosting the City of Perth Power Hour at Yagan Square every Saturday and Sunday from 5pm.

Featuring a unique selection of highlights, the Power Hour is a preview of the best things on offer this Fringe World Festival.

Fringe World Festival Director, Amber Hasler advised “Power Hour is a fantastic opportunity for our audiences to get a taste of all things Fringe.

“Whether you’re new to FRINGE WORLD or a Fringe binger, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Power Hour would not be possible without the valuable support of City of Perth, who have supported Power Hour since 2019.”
