Perth Racing appoints Carol Adams and Jo Davies appointed to Perth Racing Board

Perth Racing has appointed two new Board Members, with immediate effect - Carol Adams OAM and Jo Davies.

Adams has an extensive experience in the local government sector as well as strong legal, governance and strategic planning experience. A past board member of the Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority and several professional and not for profit and voluntary associations, Adams will place a strong community and stakeholder engagement lens over the board’s strategic direction and decision making.

“I am very excited to be appointed to the Board at a critical time where I believe I can make a positive contribution towards the future direction of Perth Racing.  As a racing enthusiast myself, it is great to be putting back into an industry where I have a strong equine interest,” said Adams.

Jo Davies has over 30 years’ experience of working and volunteering in the sport and recreation industry at local, state, national and international levels. She is currently General Manager, Community Cricket at the WA Cricket Association and a member of the National Community Cricket Leadership Team. She is a Director of East Perth Football Club and was formerly Chair of East Perth District Development Council. Davies commented:

Davies enthused “I am very excited about joining the Perth Racing Board and contributing to the future vision of the club. Ensuring Perth Racing is relevant and responsive to both the Racing Industry, as well as the broader community is a real priority. There is an exciting future ahead and I am looking forward to being a part of the team that helps to shape this future.”

Colin Brown, Chairman of Perth Racing expressed his delight at the appointments and thanked outgoing board member, Bronwyn Barnes, for her contributions to the Club adding “we are exceptionally fortunate to be able to add both Carol and Jo to the Board of Perth Racing; between them they bring a fantastic diversity of skills and experience, coupled with a real passion for developing Perth Racing and driving improvements throughout the Club. I and my fellow Board members look forward to welcoming Carol and Jo to the organisation and to working together at what is a very exciting time.

“I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to Bronwyn Barnes for her valuable contributions to the Board during her tenure and wish her all the best with her future ventures; her commitment and desire to constantly see the Club improve will be much missed.”
