Perth 'Outta Bounds' golf entertainment complex to open in June 2024
The ‘Outta Bounds’ golf complex, located 15 minutes from Perth CBD, is replacing the existing driving range and practice ground at Murdoch Pines Golf and Recreation Park, transforming the site into an innovative game improvement and golf entertainment experience.
While an opening date of November 2023 was announced in April 2023 for Outta Bounds by Murdoch Pines Driving Range General Manager and Outta Bounds co-founder Nicholas D’Avoine, Perth Now is reporting an opening date of June 2024.
Developers have demolished the Murdoch Pines Golf Driving Range facility and plan to replace it with an entertainment complex set to include golf simulators, LED interactive targets, putting greens, a bar and fully catered kitchen.
D’Avoine told Perth Now it’s one he hopes will attract the entire community advising “It caters for every person who wants to experience golf, whether it be the elite golfer or a rank beginner. We’ve got outdoor golf entertainment and we’ve got golf simulators inside.”
Golf WA reported back in April 2023, that Outta Bounds will become one of the world’s first facilities to benefit from a new partnership between Inrange and Foresight Sport to provide a more immersive range experience that captures a wide range of player data – including smash factor, spin, launch angle, ball speed and swing speed – and can be accessed via interactive technology in each bay and on mobile devices.
D’Avoine said the outdoor driving range would be the first in Perth to offer technology such as Inrange ball-tracking from every outside bay adding “It’s the number one ball tracking software out there ... it has radars all over the place. It tracks the ball from the moment it leaves the base (until) the moment it hits the ground.”
Gamification options on the range will also feature interactive targets and longest-drive contests, while the indoor simulators will offer players access to 80 global golf courses, including iconic layouts at Pebble Beach, Saint Andrews, Doral, Congressional, Kingsbarns, Royal Birkdale and Carnoustie. Indoor golf leagues will be run twice a week.
D’Avoine said the technology inside the golfing hub would also be impressive advising “As soon as you walk in the door, you’ve got six Foresight golf simulators on the right. We’ve also got what we would call the park view putting green ... it projects an image from the roof down on to the screen.
“It serves as a teaching aid for the golf professionals that will be based at Outta Bounds but also as an entertainment piece.”
D’Avoine said the development process had been positive and the demand was clear.
“This will be Perth’s first true golf entertainment driving range,” D’Avoine told Golf WA. “It will combine elements of popular enterprises like Topgolf and X-Golf under one roof in a fun, friendly and relaxing environment.
“The technology we’ll be using will empower new players to immerse themselves in the game in a variety of accessible, fun formats while enabling elite players to hone and improve the fine points of the game.”
