Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre General Manager Nigel Keen to step down

After 12 years in the role, Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre (PCEC) General Manager Nigel Keen will be stepping down from the position at the end of September.

Keen joined PCEC in 2008 as Executive Chef, before becoming Director of Operations and then General Manager in 2012.

In addition to his role at PCEC, Keen has also served as State Manager and Director of Hospitality - Western Australia for the Spotless group, where he oversaw up to 18 contracts within the state.

Commenting on departing the venue, Keen (pictured) advised “I look back at my time at PCEC with great pride and many fond memories.

“However, I believe my greatest achievement has been rebuilding the business to its best levels of event activity and delegate numbers in the venue’s 20-year history, especially after the challenges of 2020 and fostering a strong team culture with Kendra, that leaves the venue in excellent shape for the future.”

Keen will hand over the reins to General Manager - Venue Operations Kendra Naidoo, who is returning from maternity leave in October on a part-time basis.

Naidoo advised “working alongside Nigel for many years has been a rewarding experience, I’ve learnt so much from his leadership.

“Along with the great team at PCEC, I’m confident we will continue to build on the strong foundation Nigel has built and continue to grow the business events industry in WA.”
