Paul Pei to share Ocean Park's sales strategies at 2011 AALARA Conference
Leading theme park sales and marketing guru Paul Pei is to visit Australia next week to address the 2011 Australian Amusement, Leisure and Recreation Association (AALARA) conference.
Paul, Executive Director, Sales & Marketing for Ocean Park Hong Kong, will be delivering a keynote address, 'Keeping it Fresh to increase guest satisfaction and retention' at the AALARA conference - being held from 9th to 12th May at Jupiters Hotel on the Gold Coast.
Joining Ocean Park in 2000, the year after the opening of Hong Kong Disneyland, Pei's energising of Ocean Park's sales and marketing has helped transformed the attraction into one the world's top 15 most visited theme parks.
Pei's address at AALARA will present examples from successful initiatives at Ocean Park to illustrate how facilities can use marketing strategies to keep guest happy and eager to return. In particular, Paul will share marketing strategies that keep a facility fresh and exciting, even if you do not have a new ride or attraction to highlight that year.
Pei is a consummate salesman, who believes that sometimes consumers don't really know what they want ï¾ and that sales professionals have to teach them what they want and then sell that product or service to them.
In addition, in understanding the customer, Pei emphasises the importance of communicating and interacting with the customer, and being "sure to talk with and not to people."
Pei told Australasian Leisure Management, "business is sales (and) the staff and company depends on sales. If we improve sales, (we) improve revenues."
Pei's sees sales and marketing as absolutely fundamental to business, stating that "everyone must support the sales and marketing efforts (for) without sales and revenues, we will not have jobs or companies."
