Parklife: A Quality Festival in Beautiful Venues

2010 has been a huge year for Parklife, Australiaâs dance and indie music festival, with the expansion of its musical repertoire and the addition of new stages. The event also won praise as the quality festival in beautiful venues. Consistently strong performances from the massive lineup were celebrated by the customers and brought hundreds of positive reviews as well as heartfelt expressions of thanks and satisfaction from the artists themselves.
Parklife raised funds for a good cause too â collecting just under $43,000 for Heaps Decent, the charity Fuzzy supports.
Industry guests were invited to donate $20 upon entry to Parklife to raise funds for Heaps Decent: an initiative committed to finding and nurturing the creativity of underprivileged and Indigenous young people and emerging artists. Sydney was the top earner, raising nearly $15,000. Parklife artists got involved in all the feel-good stuff too, with Sinden, Brodinski, DJ Mehdi, Jesse Rose and AC Slater participating in workshops with Heaps Decent outside of the festival.
Fuzzy Director Adelle Robinson was really pleased with the results of both the funds raised for Heaps Decent and the festival itself. âThereâs nothing better than seeing our customers having a great time hearing music they love, and the fact that a really good cause got something out of peopleâs enjoyment is the icing on the cake. This yearâs Parklife was an incredible experience, we love putting on this event.?
It was also a landmark tour for Groove Armada, who played their last ever live shows in Australia at Parklife. The UK duo recently announced that they would be ending their epic touring saga, and Parklife proved to be a grand finale for these music legends.
Parklife 2010 saw the biggest touring crew that Fuzzy have taken around the country yet, with a total of 200 talented people making the shows in Perth, Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide cities happen.
