On The Road Again initiative supports live music and development opportunities at Altona Theatre
Live from the Altona Theatre - presented by Hobsons Bay City Council as part of the Victorian Government initiative ‘On the Road Again’ - will see an impressive all-Australian line-up over three Thursday nights as part of a new program of contemporary music.
Kicking off the series on Thursday 25th August is alternative artist Didirri, and one of Australia’s most exciting singer/songwriters, ARIA Award nominated musician, Mo’Ju.
Acclaimed singer Emma Donovan and rhythm combo The Putbacks will star on Thursday 22nd September, supported by southern soul specialists, The Meltdown.
Wrapping up the series are highly acclaimed and much-loved sisters Vika and Linda on Thursday 27th October, with James Henry opening.
Mayor of Hobsons Bay, Peter Hemphill is thrilled On The Road Again is bringing some of Australia’s best live performers to Altona and thanked the State Government adding “we’re able to present an incredible contemporary live music program which will appeal to music lovers and will be a great night out right here in our neighbourhood.
“Altona Theatre is one of the few purpose-built theatres in Melbourne’s west, and it will make for a very special and intimate experience. We can’t wait for our local community, and people from around Melbourne, to come and experience live music in the heart of our city.”
Hobsons Bay City Council’s Live from the Altona Theatre program also supports local artists, musicians, producers and creatives with a range of professional development opportunities.
