NZIS announces satellite site at Papatoetoe Sports Centre
The Papatoetoe Sports and Community Charitable Trust and the New Zealand Institute of Sport (NZIS) have signed a partnership to provide a satellite learing site at the Papatoetoe Sports Centre.
NZIS was established in 1996 to provide tertiary level education for those interested in a career in fitness, recreation sector. Its new office at the Papatoetoe Sports Centre and will offer Certificate in Sport Studies and Certificate in Sport courses from the state-of-the-art facility in 2013.
Papatoetoe Sports Centre (PSC) General Manager Justin Leydesdorff explained "partnering with NZIS made great sense, it ensures the facility is used during non-peak hours and having the NZIS brand in the south (of Auckland) opens exciting learning opportunities for our communities."
NZIS Chief Executive Chief Executive John Fiso added "NZIS has always had a strong connection with students from Manukau. Having a southern site will make our courses more accessible and the Sports Centre will make for a fantastic learning environment."
Courses will begin at the PSC from February next year with enrolment for courses now open.
Limited 'zero fee' youth guarantee place are also available.
