NSW Minister for Emergency Services to host Water Safety Roundtable

By Nigel Benton

Facing a rising summer drowning toll, NSW Minister for Emergency Services, Jihad Dib, supported by the Emergency Management Branch of the NSW Premier’s Department, will be hosting a NSW Water Safety Roundtable in early March 2024.

Expected to involve the widest possible range of water safety stakeholders, including bodies other than Surf Life Saving Australia and Royal Life Saving Society - Australia, the roundtable will consider the latest water safety research and data, a stocktake of current initiatives and projects, gaps and opportunities for the sector, along with planning for the remainder of the peak period when people are in danger.

Australasian Leisure Management understands the roundtable will also consider the Float to Survive initiative.
