Normanville Surf Life Saving Club to host Masters State Championships following redevelopment

Normanville Surf Life Saving Club, located on the Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia, recently reopened following its more than $7 million redevelopment.

In March 2024 the club will host its first major Surf Life Saving event following the rebuild, as the Masters State Championships take place in Normanville.

The redevelopment was achieved via an impressive collaboration between the South Australian Government, Yankalilla Council, Surf Lifesaving SA and volunteers at the Normanville club.

The redevelopment of the clubrooms, together with a commercial café/kiosk under one roof, has been funded through a State Government partnership with the District Council of Yankalilla and the Normanville SLSC.

Visitors to the club will be able to enjoy the full benefits of the new facilities, with the rebuild resulting in greater amenity and additional safety for beachgoers.

A new access ramp from the to the beach and a relocated first aid room will support quicker emergency responses with improved beach and ambulance accessibility.

Darryl Houston, District Council of Yankalilla Mayor shared “Council is delighted to have partnered with the State Government and the local Normanville Surf Life Saving Club to deliver this new and iconic beachside destination.”
