New Wellness Tourism Unearthed event to be held in the Adelaide Hills

A new event, Wellness Tourism Unearthed, is to be held for the first time in South Australia’s Adelaide Hills on 2nd and 3rd August this year.

This one-and-a-half-day grass roots industry event is designed to engage and upskill the wellness and tourism industry. Immerse in the latest consumer wellness and travel insights and gain tips to succeed in this thriving sector.

The event will deep dive into best practice from successful businesses and provide attendees with tools to adapt or enhance their current offering. Embrace the latest marketing ideas to target the wellness traveller while fostering new collaborations and business opportunities with other attendees.

Speakers include Googles lead for Travel APAC Hermoine Joye, Wellness Advisor Sharon Kolkka and Sarah Sutter, Chief Executive of Nature Play South Australia.

A partner event to the Wellness Tourism Summit, Wellness Tourism Unearthed aims to appeal to those tourism and/or the wellness operators who are looking to branch into the wellness tourism segment and understand how to position and target this growth sector.

Delegates could include nature-based tourism operators, food and drink operators, accommodation providers, retreats, spas, wellness practitioners and suppliers and travel distributors.

Katherine Droga, founder of Wellness Tourism Unearthed and the Wellness Tourism Summit, explained “with demand for wellness tourism experiences thriving in Australia at this moment, we are so excited to be launching this new grass roots industry event for wellness and tourism operators. The traditional perception of wellness travel is changing.

“Today travellers are seeking to enhance their physical, mental, emotional, or social wellbeing through a vast array of sustainable tourism experiences. These also include nature based, paddock to plate and indigenous offerings as well as amazing spas and retreats.”

Welcoming the hosting of the Summit, Helen Edwards, Chair of Adelaide Hills Tourism, added “we are delighted to be hosting Wellness Tourism Unearthed in the Adelaide Hills. We feel the region is perfectly placed to capitalise on this sustainable and booming visitor segment.”

This event is part of the Adelaide Hills Tourism new Wellness-led Tourism Resilience Initiative funded through the Local Economic Recovery (LER) support under the National Bushfire Recovery Fund from the South Australian and Federal Governments.

Originally, due to be held in March last year, but cancelled due to COVID-19, the inaugural Wellness Tourism Summit will be held in Noosa on 14th and 15th October 2021.
