New Victorian Cabinet includes Minister for Outdoor Recreation portfolio
The Cabinet of new Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan is to include the role of Minister for Outdoor Recreation, with Steve Dimopoulos to take on this portfolio - as well as that of Minister for the Environment - while retaining his role as Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events.
Premier Allan (pictured) who stepped up to the position following the resignation of Daniel Andrews last week also named Colin Brooks as Minister for Creative Industries as well as Minister for Development Victoria and Minister for Precincts.
Unveiling her cabinet, which has been sworn in today, Premier Allen announced a focus on building 800,000 new homes over the next decade.
Among other roles, Tim Pallas will retain his responsibilities as Treasurer and Minister for Industrial Relations while also taking on an expanded role as Minister for Economic Growth.
Sonya Kilkenny will retain her responsibilities as Minister for Planning and also become Minister for the Suburbs while Natalie Hutchins will lead the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions as Minister for Jobs and Industry.
Other appointments will see Gayle Tierney become Minister for Skills and TAFE as well as Minister for Regional Development.
Lily D’Ambrosio will continue to oversee Victoria’s energy transition as Minister for Climate Action, Minister for Energy and Resources and Minister for the State Electricity Commission.
Melissa Horne will remain as Minister for Local Government and will tackle the next phase of regulatory reform work as Minister for Casino, Gaming and Liquor Regulation.
