New Marrara facilties a boost for NT Cricket

Northern Territory Cricket's new state of the art office and training facility at Marrara Cricket Ground are now fully operational.

The $3 million facility upgrade resulted from an arrangement between the NT Government, NT Cricket and Cricket Australia.

NT Cricket Chief Executive Andrew Ramsay believes that local, national and international cricketers will all be beneficiaries and that the upgrades are a big step forward.

Ramsay explained "at last, we have a comprehensive and modern range of training and playing facilities for local players, emerging talents and visitors.

"A new turf block will be built shortly, and with all the facilities here and elsewhere, the big challenge is to ensure progressive maintenance programs are in place.

"Financial returns from national and international facility users will bring in some revenue, and help support the upkeep of this place."
