New Fan experiences revealed for 2026 Perth Sail Grand Prix

The inaugural Oracle Perth Sail Grand Prix presented by KPMG will be offering multiple viewing options and fan experiences for the new sailing event in January 2026.

Supported by the Western Australian Government through Tourism WA, the event is taking place from 17th-18th January 2026, with fans of the prestigious sailing event offered tiered pricing options across a range of experiences, including:

  • Bring Your Own Boat: an on-water, front-row position to the high-speed action inside the Exclusion Zone;

  • Waterfront Grandstand: an Australia-first for SailGP, the grandstand will offer elevated seating with prime views from the heart of the action, plus live commentary and big screens;

  • Waterfront Premium & Platinum: elevated viewing deck with an all-inclusive gourmet food and beverage menu; and

  • Beach Club: a relaxed, casual atmosphere on Bathers Beach to watch the action from shore, with food and drinks available to purchase.

SailGP is one of the world's most fast-paced and prestigious sailing events, featuring 50-foot catamarans raced by teams from 12 nations at speeds of over 100km/h in close proximity to the shoreline.

The annual global championship takes place in major cities across the world including Abu Dhabi, New York and Saint Tropez, and in January 2026 will add Fremantle to the lineup as the first stop on the event's international tour.

The Perth Sail Grand Prix is anticipated to attract thousands of visitors to WA, injecting millions of dollars into the State's economy while also generating enormous global media coverage showcasing Perth and Fremantle.

Set to take place over two days, the event will include a minimum of three 15-minute races per day that will culminate in a final showdown between the three highest-scoring teams.

The event will return to WA in 2027 and 2028 as part of a three-year deal adding to Perth's growing annual calendar of events, and is another example of the Cook Government's economic diversification strategy.

Those who pre-register will gain early access to tickets at an exclusive price, while general tickets will be available at 10am AWST Thursday, 28th August 2025.
