New Directions for ASGA
The Australian Sporting Goods Association (ASGA) is to be re-branded following the ASGA's Board having approved a new logo for the Association.
The new logo encapsulates a modern feel and incorporates ASGA's commitment to sport, activity and active lifestyles. The new logo will be rolled out across the various media over the coming months.
Members will be provided with a copy of the new ASGA logo when memberships are renewed so the new logo can be displayed on member websites.
ASGA has also announced that from July 2011 it will enter into a new partnership with market intelligence provider 10ThousandFeet.
As a result, key new additions to ASGA's market intelligence survey offerings will include;
ï¾ A new compression garment survey will be introduced in 2011/12.
ï¾ An improved data collection portal utilising a specialist email tool making it easier and simpler to report data.
ï¾ Improved survey out puts with data displayed in new and improved formats.
ï¾ Insights and commentary on external factors and economic circumstances that affect sales.
ï¾ Retail surveys will collect both online and in-store sales data.
ï¾ Apparel surveys will be increased to quarterly.
ï¾ Retail surveys will be quarterly.
ï¾ Survey data outputs to be accompanied by written snapshots and overviews.
ï¾ In 2011/12 Sports Development Fund (SDF) Members, ASGA's highest level of membership will receive a 10% discount off the cost of survey subscriptions.
ASGA will be working with the industry over the coming weeks to refine the survey process and ensure that the new survey format in 2011/12 meets member's needs and expectations.
Existing survey's for 2010/11 will operate as normal with the existing supplier Deep End Services and the surveys will not change until after the reporting period ending 30th June.
ASGA has also reported that respected sports lawyer Ian Fullagar has announced his resignation from the Board of ASGA.
As a result of Ian's resignation, the ASGA Board has chosen to accept the nomination of Jennifer Cromarty to fill the vacancy.
Jennifer currently works as an Account Director for Socom, a Public Relations and Public Affairs consultancy.
Prior to joining Socom this year, Jennifer was the Deputy Executive Director for the Australian Retailers Association. She worked closely with ASGA to found the Fair Imports Alliance and she coordinated its campaign activities. In addition to this, Jennifer worked with ASGA to establish the 'Engage in E-Tail' seminar series to educate our industry about emerging trends in online retail.
The position of Chair of the ASGA Board is vacant and the Board will appoint a Chair from its membership at its next meeting.
