New Council magazine focuses on Cairns’ arts and cultural scene
Cairns Regional Council has launched a free publication to help residents and visitors learn about live music, theatre and the arts.
Hitting the streets this week, Vibrance magazine will highlight and provide information on the programs, projects and events of Cairns Regional Council’s arts and cultural branch – Cultural Services.
Articles and information will showcase the likes of the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF), creative developments and artists-in-residence works, successful grant outcomes, new public art installations, Cairns Festival and more.
It will also be a one-stop-shop to discover upcoming events across Council venues including Cairns Performing Arts Centre, Munro Martin Parklands and Tanks Arts Centre.
Vibrance will combine previously printed programs including Tanks Arts Centre, Cairns Performing Arts Centre, Cairns Festival and the Cairns Children’s Festival, and other arts and cultural projects, into the one magazine.
Launching the magazine, Cairns Mayor Bob Manning stated “17 separate programs were printed each year, so to consolidate into the one magazine, every two months, is a more effective way to communicate information,” Cairns Mayor Bob Manning said.
The consolidation of printed programs and distribution will provide a cost reduction to Council over the first year, and in the coming months, Vibrance will also be available digitally.
Mayor Manning added “as the digital platform usage increases, the print version will decrease to ensure a further reduction in paper use.
“The first digital issue is currently being developed and tested.”
Vibrance is now available to pick up free from Council’s Customer Service centres, CPAC, Ticketlink, Tanks, libraries, and various cafes and shops throughout the Cairns region.
