New BioGuard pool water treatment system reduces costs and improves the swimming experience

BioGuard has launched its new Dryden Aqua Integrated System, a fully integrated, biological swimming pool water treatment system that prevents the growth of bacteria and pathogens in the aquatic filter media – greatly minimising the amount of sanitiser required.

Designed for commercial swimming pool applications, Dryden Aqua Integrated System (DAISY®) is a fully integrated, biological swimming pool water treatment system that filters to 0.1 microns, reduces operating costs, eliminates chlorine odours and delivers superior air quality.

Preventing the growth of bacteria and pathogens in the filter media - greatly minimising the amount of sanitiser required - DAISY eliminates harmful chlorine by-products and, as BioLab Australia and New Zealand advises, "provides the best air and water quality on the market"

A ecological and sustainable water treatment solution. DAISY consists of three integrated steps:

STEP 1: Filtration with AFM®
Thanks to its unique self-sterilising surface, AFM is the only filter media on the market to fully prevent bacterial growth in all sand filters. Impurities cannot stick to AFM and are completely evacuated during backwash. The formation of biofilm - responsible for chlorine smells and channeling in the filter - is fully prevented.

With a certified 4 micron filtration rate, AFM surpasses the performance of sand and other glass filter media. After only 24 hours, water becomes much clearer while chemical consumption starts to reduce.

AFM offers a quick return of investment. It saves resources such as water, chlorine and energy, thanks to slower and more efficient backwash. AFM outlasts all other filter media and can be used in any sand filter without modifications.

STEP 2: COAGULATION + FLOCCULATION WITH APF®
APF is a highly concentrated liquid product containing a precise combination of coagulants and flocculants for a wide spectrum of actions.

APF - when used with AFM - is able to remove all particles down to 0.1 micron.

Chemicals consumption is reduced to the lowest possible level.

APF makes your pool safer and healthier by removing more pollutants and organic substances from the water.

The formation of harmful disinfection by-products - such as trihalomethanes - is significantly reduced. With APF, more pathogens can be filtered out including chlorine resistant parasites such as Cryptosporidium and Giardia.

APF contains NoPhos, an ecofriendly coagulant which removes phosphates from the water to prevent algae growth in a natural and sustainable way.

STEP 3: INCREASED OXIDATION WITH ACO®
Unlike cyanuric acid (CYA), ACO filters UV light and protects chlorine without reducing its efficiency. ACO avoids all problems with saturated water and unnecessary chlorine over dosage.

Chlorine consumption is reduced by 20% to 40%. In salt pools: ACO® greatly extends the lifetime of the Chlorinator cell.

ACO® is a photocatalyst that amplifies the natural disinfection power of the sun supporting the production of free radicals (OH.) through UV. Free radicals oxidise pollutants such as urea and chloramines.

Chloramine concentration is reduced by up to 50% and turbidity by up to 40%, providing crystal clear and safe water. Innovative and ecofriendly, ACO® is compatible with all types of treatments. It is a natural, non-hazardous product which does not form any harmful disinfection by-products.
