Adventure attractions spotlighted for Queensland’s Scenic Rim

The Scenic Rim Region, a local government area in the West Moreton region of South East Queensland, will see adventure attractions open in January 2025.

The Canyon Flyer - an adrenaline-pumping immersive flight through the treetops, at Thunderbird Park, Tamborine Mountain is re-opening on 10th January 2025.

The Canyon Flyer is Australia's largest, highest and fastest zip line tour and following the destructive weather event on Christmas Day 2023, the attraction has been meticulously rebuilt to now boast an additional zipline to the seven over the 1.4km course.

Thunderbird Park is a wildlife and geological rich oasis stretching over 112 hectares on Tamborine Mountain. Its range of onsite adventure activities include fossicking for gemstone-filled thundereggs formed when dinosaurs roamed the earth; high ropes course Tree Top Challenge - Australia's longest and highest adventure ropes course with cable ladders, rope bridges, flying fox, tunnels, and suspended trunks.

Also opening early 2025 is Happitat - a world-first cliff park, based in the Binna Burra (one of Australia's first eco-tourism destinations), section of Woonoongoora-Lamington National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the Gold Coast hinterland.

Set 400 metres above the valley floor, on a 200metre high cliff face, the sheer exposure to this elevation and its majestic views are breathtaking.

Phase one of Happitat consists of three ziplines, including what will be Australia's highest, via ferrata courses, tight rope sections and suspension bridges.

While the adventures on offer set Happitat apart, their true purpose is to reconnect people and nature.

Born from his pursuit to find a meaningful bond with nature, Happitat was founded by Michael Neururer.
