National Sports Convention postpones Brisbane event while embracing COVID rules Melbourne and Sydney Forums

The organisers of the National Sports Convention’s Forum events have advised that its Brisbane event, scheduled to be held on 13th November, will be postponed until March 2021.

Citing an inability to get speakers and staff into Queensland, the organisers have advised that next year’s Brisbane event will be promoted with QSport, with content that was to have been delivered at the Brisbane NSC Forum to be integrated with November’s Sydney and Melbourne events.

Delegates registered for the Brisbane event will also be able to be part of the Sydney and Melbourne events online.

Explaining that the “NSC Forums continue to embrace and pivot around the COVID Board and Health Departments restrictions”, the organisers have advised that for the Sydney NSC Forum on 9th November and Melbourne Forum on 11th November:

• Sydney - Up to 300 delegates can attend (as well as virtual delegates), with intimate table-top Expo and online Expo
• Melbourne - Online delegates only due to continued Coronavirus restrictions in place.

Commenting on the changes, National Sports Convention founder Martin Sheppard (pictured below) stated “the NSC’s commitment to provide opportunities for industry to network and share insights, remains strong and continues to evolve to meet the ongoing COVID challenges that the guidelines from Queensland and Victoria have in place to restrict the spread of the pandemic.

“Online technology now allows us to provide opportunities to share the insights from the Brisbane Forum within the Sydney and Melbourne Forums.

“With the continued support from our amazing collaborators, sponsors and speakers we are excited about how the industry continues to show its resilience and we are looking forward to meeting people in person in Sydney and online from the rest of Australia, New Zealand and globally."

National Sports Convention Sport and Recreation Exhibition 2020
The National Sports Convention (NSC) Sport and Recreation Exhibition 2020 will be part of the NSC Forums in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane providing unique opportunities for ALM’s commercial partners to exhibit virtually this year.

The NSC is committed to continue to ‘connect the dots’ between the industry and suppliers by offering a virtual NSC Sport and Recreation Expo for the week of the Forums.

The focus of the NSC Forums will be ‘Reconnecting physical activity, play, recreation and community sport’ and how to do that - which is an ideal opportunity for ALM’s Commercial Partners to connect the dots for their industry clients in a manner that provides them with solutions post COVID.

The Sport and Recreation Virtual Expo will offer some unique opportunities for Australasian Leisure Management’s advertisers including:

• Virtual Exhibition - Each Commercial Partner will be provided an online platform for them to present to the industry, over the NSC Forums week (9th -13th November), opportunities for online delegates to connect and appreciate what each of them have to offer the sector post- COVID and how they can help them re-energise their facilities, their organisation or services being delivered.
• Connect to Delegates - see delegates and request ‘connections and meetings with them’ while they are at the NSC Forums and expect delegates to connect with them.
• Knowledge Sharing - The secret to online Expo’s will be the ability of each exhibitor to be able to attract the delegates by promoting their unique offering and we are keen to assist the Exhibitors including providing them with the ability to record and share a short video, provide downloadable content and link to their webpage.
