Myrtha technology being installed at Mandurah Aquatic and Recreation Centre
Commercial Aquatics Australia have released details of work they are undertaking as part of the redevelopment of the Mandurah Aquatic & Recreation Centre (MARC).
Due for completion in April 2015, the $38million redevelopment will feature a 50 metre outdoor Myrtha Pools with movable boom and entry ramp, a refurbished indoor 25 metre pool using Myrtha Renovaction and a new leisure pool with various zones including a separate childrens pool, aquatic play area with a slide and tipping bucket. In addition, the facility will have all new filtration utilising sand filters and pool hydraulics installed, plus chlorine gas and soda ash water chemistry system and UV units to the indoor pools.
Opened in 1982, MARC has since become the centrepiece of Mandurah and the Peel Region’s indoor aquatic and sports facilities. With more than 650,000 visitors per year, the ageing facilities have been under pressure for a number of years.
When complete, the new MARC will provide a modern, integrated sporting, aquatic and recreational facility that will meet the needs of Mandurah’s growing community.
