Multimedia competition challenging the creativity of ASEAN youth
The ASEAN - Korea Centre is inviting young Korean and ASEAN nationals to take part in its fifth Multimedia Competition, themed ‘Lifestyle of ASEAN’.
The subject matter intends ‘to explore and reflect on ASEAN’s diverse world of culture, craftsmanship, food, architecture and other aspects of daily life’.
Located in Seoul, the ASEAN-Korea Centre is an inter-governmental organisation promoting economic and socio-cultural cooperation between the 10 ASEAN Member States and Korea.
Young people under the age of 30 are welcomed to present their creative and fresh new media artworks, displaying the competition’s theme, to the Centre by 23rd July.
Explaining that the contest is meant to contribute to the advancement of better understanding between ASEAN and Korea, ASEAN-Korea Centre Secretary General Hae Moon Chung stated “this competition is expected to contribute in serving as a platform for further advancing cultural exchanges between the ASEAN and Korea’s youth generation.
“The ‘Lifestyle of ASEAN’ theme will create a unique opportunity to reflect upon the new and diverse cultural values of ASEAN.”
The competition is wholeheartedly supported by ASEAN, fitting its aim at promoting ASEAN’s Creative and Experiential tourism.
Winners on both sides (ASEAN and Korea) will have a chance to exhibit their artworks in Seoul and local art galleries.
Prizes will be an all-expense-paid trip to Korea for ASEAN winners and a chance to travel to one ASEAN Member State for Korean Winners.
The announcement of the 11 Award winners will be made around mid August 2014 with award ceremony and exhibitions to take place during January and February 2015.
