Movie World to launch Green Lantern rollercoaster for Christmas

Gold Coast theme park Warner Bros. Movie World will open a new Green Lantern rollercoaster this December.

Having announced in July that it would be adding a major new attraction this year, details of the new ride have emerged in recent weeks

The $10 million S&S Worldwide roller coaster track, themed with branding from DC Comics' Green Lantern movie, will feature the steepest drop in the Southern Hemisphere.

Sited adjacent to Movie World's Batman Adventure: The Ride 2, Batwing Spaceshot, the location has already opened a DC Store.

The ride, which represents continued investment in infrastructure by Gold Coast theme parks, is expected to resemble the Green Lantern coaster that opened this year at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, California.
