Movie World previews Summer Stunt Show
Gold Coast theme park Warner Bros. Movie World has previewed its soon to open Hollywood Stunt Driver attraction.
Set to open on Boxing Day, the new $10 million Hollywood Stunt Driver show is described as the most ambitious live action show to hit the country.
It replaces the Police Academy Stunt Show, which closed earlier this year after 18,000 performances over 16 years.
The ½ hour Holllywood Stunt Driver show celebrates the stunt action involved in movie making and contains multiple pyrotechnic, gas flame and mechanical special effects, as well as new stunt-actor humour with rocket weapons, military vehicles, police cars, motorcycles and a helicopter.
Located in a new purpose-built arena at Warner Bros. Movie World, the showâs stars are 10 stunt drivers including former V8 Supercar driver Warren Luff and former champion ironman Guy Andrews.
About 250 drivers auditioned to be part of the show.
The change in shows echoes a similar change at Warner Bros. Movie World, Germany which replaced its Police Academy Stunt Show with the Hollywood Stunt Show in 2003.
