Mosman’s Hunter Park Playspace features inclusive equipment

The Hunter Park Inclusive Playspace has been completed in Balmoral with the project being part of Mosman Council's Disability Inclusion Action Plan 2022-26 and developed with funding from the NSW Department of Planning's Everyone Can Play program.

The playspace features accessible pathways, picnic tables and new play equipment, including a sand table with spaces for wheelchairs and a ramp providing access to a sandpit digger. The park also has an accessible trampoline built into the ground, as well as an inclusive swing. Other works include new rubber softfall surface and landscaping and the addition of an accessible car space next to the playground.

The Everyone Can Play program makes a commitment to inclusive playspaces, delivering infrastructure that is essential for communities, increasing access to open space.

Mosman Mayor Carolyn Corrigan said the project was part of Council's ongoing efforts to make Mosman a more inclusive place to live.

"This is a wonderful space that children of all abilities can enjoy," she said.

"Mosman is a caring and supportive community and projects such as this playground make it even more inclusive for the benefit of everyone."

NSW Minister for Planning and Public Spaces Paul Scully said the State Government committed $70,000 for the park upgrade through the Everyone Can Play Program.
